Rewarding school perseverance
"I intend to invest myself personally with these young women, to support them and to accompany them in their educational journey. I know I can make a difference and I feel very privileged to be able to do so."
- Mélanie Pilote, President & Founder Melanie Stones
Melanie Stones joins Educaid as part of its Persévéra program. For the next three years, Melanie Stones, recognized for her contribution to female entrepreneurship, will sponsor a cohort of five high school students in her native region, Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean, by awarding them scholarships of $500, renewable if they will pursue studies leading them to obtain a 1st secondary school diploma or vocational studies diploma (DES or DEP).
The Persevera sponsorship program is exclusive to Educaid; through this program, students from less privileged backgrounds are paired with companies. Sponsoring donators agree to pay $500 yearly to each sponsored student until they obtain their first diploma.
The program offers sponsors the opportunity to play a role in the success of these teenagers by tipping the scales in their favour. Sponsored students receive genuine encouragement from adults who believe in them; they benefit from interaction that will prepare them for life’s challenges.
